Mr. Pious Asante a Gender Specialist with a concentration on Equality and Women Empowerment, Nutrition and Food Security in the Agricultural Sector has over the past 4 years been working with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) as a Gender Mainstreaming Assistant in Sub-Sahara Africa. He is responsible for the African Regional Network of Gender Focal point in each of the 47 FAO member countries in the region.

He is currently working on a project to produce a Country Gender Assessment of the first generation of the National Agricultural Investment Plans (NAIPS) in each of the ECOWAS and the Central African Countries.

Pious holds a Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies and a Masters of Arts in Public Policy in Management and Leadership from the Walden University in Minnesota USA.

Akosua Hansen A pan-African and a feminist, Akosua founded Drama Queens, a non-profit theatre organization which seeks change the patriarchal narrative by centering African women’s stories through theatre. Under Drama Queens, she runs sex education workshops dubbed ‘Let’s Talk Consent’ in high schools and universities in Accra, teaching about consent, debunking misconceptions about sex and the effects of popular culture and society on gender roles and sexual relations as her way of addressing the problem of a rape culture in Ghanaian society.

She currently writes for the pan-African website, thisisafrica.me and curates a personal blog at darkmosaic.blogspot.com. She has published articles such as ‘Ebola and the Africa-hating Single Story’, ‘A Girl’s hopes for Women’s Day’, ‘Shashii, Ghanaian Twitter and Slut Shaming’, ‘Could We Be Protecting the Cosby Next Door?’
